PlayStation consoles are undoubtedly the uncrowned king of their segment. Pretty recently, Sony launched the PlayStation 5 Pro in the global market, missing out in some countries due to band issues. And now, the PlayStation 6 has started making headlines. Multiple rumors related to the console have suggested that it will be launched somewhere in 2027. Moving forward, we will discuss all things PS6 and what the leaks have to say.

PlayStation 6 : How the release window came into play

The 2027 release window for PlayStation 5 came out in an official Microsoft court document which was a part of the Activision Blizzard acquisition. The information was in a little law-inspired language but the gist of it was that Microsoft believed that a new PlayStation would come somewhere around 2027. Now, having a look at the past patterns of Sony, the PlayStation 3 stayed relevant for at least 7 years before the PlayStation 4 came into existence, and the same happened with the latter when PlayStation 5 launched.

If we connect the dots, the PlayStation 5 launched officially in 2020 and the seven year cycle will get completed around 2027 - that most probably rings a bell or two. One thing which the readers should keep in mind is that these are all speculations based on leaks. Nothing can be said with complete surety until there is an official announcement from Sony.

PlayStation 6 : What about the pricing

Commenting on the pricing of the upcoming machine is a bit vague at this point in time. In an honest opinion, no one can assume the price until the specs are out. Nonetheless, there have been events in the past that give us a rough idea of what price point we can get to see in terms of PlayStation 6. We all know that the latest PlayStation 5 Pro carries a $700 price tag that got the gaming fraternity divided - some justifying the price point while others criticising it.

Now, analysts all over the globe have suggested that PS5 Pro's high price was a test by Sony to see how the audience takes it -  you guessed it right - the audience reactions are going to play a major role in the pricing of the PlayStation 6. And what we can see until now points to one thing - the next generation console by Sony is going to ship with a hefty price tag. That being said, the console will be available for pre-orders through Sony's official website. As of now, we have no confirmation regarding the availability through a third-party.

PlayStation 6 : Expected specifications and features

The PlayStation 6 is rumored to support 4K at 120 frames per second and 8K at 60 frames per second. And the console will most probably retain the 2TB hard drive from its predecessor. Most probably, it will also work on an advanced AMD processor specially designed to tackle heavy games and stuff.

Reports in the past related to the PlayStation 6 console have also suggested that it will have two versions based on hardware - similar to Xbox Series X|S. And this could be a game changer on many different levels as Sony has not done that pretty prominently in the past. However, nothing has been confirmed directly from the brand until now. So, the readers are suggested to take this information with a grain of salt.
